My mother has liver failure, caused by cancer of the pancreas. Here she is at the beach, with her skin so yellow it has green in it. She looks at you very rarely; sometimes she smiles. Other times she looks right through you. I worry that her frowns are from pain. I enjoyed the time I spent with my brother. Life is hard.
